Continue.

Antiparkinsons Agents

Continue, must be given at correct times. 

Includes selegeline (MAO-B inhibitor).

Antipsychotics

Continue.

Benzodiazepines

Zopiclone and related

Continue. Be aware of withdrawl if discontinued.

Lithium

Continue. Monitor renal function and serum lithium.


Monamine oxidase inhibitprs (MAOI)

Generally stop traditional MAOi, but discuss with anesthetist prior. 

If discontinued, it will need to be 2 weeks prior.

May consider switching to moclobemide (reversible MAOI) which can be W/H preop (half life 2 hours).

Neostigmine / Pyridostigmine

Continue.

Chronic Opioids

Continue. If oral route unavailable, a fentanyl patch will take up to 12 hours for full effect.

SSRI

Continue.

Tricyclic Antidepressants

Continue.
