diabetic medication

Continue regular diabetic medication if not fasting. If fasting is required, see below. 

If altering insulins, patients must have the ability to measure blood sugars and treat hypos (eat / drink) as the priority.

Consider an IV insulin infusion if:

Blood sugars persisently >12mmol/L

Prolonged/major surgery missing more than 2 meals

SGLTi not stopped appropraitely (see non-insulin medication)
